The narrative opens with Mr. Bingley, a wealthy, charming and social young bachelor, moving into Netherfield house in the neighborhood of the Bennet family. Mr. Bingley is soon well received, while his friend Mr. Darcy makes a less favorable first impression by appearing proud at a ball that they attend. Mr. Bingley singles out Elizabeth’s elder sister, Jane, for particular attention. And it soon becomes apparent that they have formed an attachment to each other. By contrast, Darcy and Elizabeth do not develop a good relationship with each other.
At a ball given by Mr. Bingley at Netherfield, Mr. Darcy becomes aware of a general expectation that Mr. Bingley and Jane will marry. But the Bennet family, with the exception of Jane and Elizabeth, behave in poor manners at the ball. The following morning, Mr. Collins asks Elizabeth to marry him, but is refused. Mr. Collins recovers and becomes engaged to Elizabeth’s close friend Charlotte. Mr. Bingley returns to London suddenly, and Elizabeth is convinced that Mr. Darcy separates him from her sister Jane.
In the spring, Elizabeth visits Charlotte and Mr. Collins. They visit Rosings Park, home of Lady Catherine de Bourgh, Darcy’s aunt. Coincidentally, Darcy also arrives to visit. Darcy again finds himself attracted to Elizabeth and proposes to her. Elizabeth, however, has just learned of Darcy’s role in separating Mr. Bingley from Jane. So she gets angry with him and quarrels with him. Mr. Darcy responds with a letter, explaining his actions. Elizabeth later came to acknowledge the truth of Darcy’s words.
Some months later, Elizabeth and her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner visit Pemberley, Darcy’s estate, believing that he will be absent for the day. But Mr. Darcy returns unexpectedly. Though surprised, Mr. Darcy shows welcome to their visitation. He treats the Gardiners friendly and introduces Elizabeth to his sister. And Elizabeth begins to pay attention to Mr. Darcy. At this time, Elizabeth knows that her sister Lydia has run away with Mr. Wickham.
Lady Catherine de Bourgh later shows up in Longbourn. She warns Elizabeth not to marry Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth refuses her demands. Angrily, Lady Catherine leaves and tells her nephew on Elizabeth’s bad behavior, hoping that Mr. Darcy will not marry her. However, this brings hope to Darcy that Elizabeth’s opinion of him may have changed. He visits Longbourn and proposes again and now Elizabeth accepts.

Pride and Prejudice is Jane Austen's masterpiece. It brings to life the reactionary, traditional English country life and the thoughts of people in the 18th and 19th centuries. This great novel has attracted thousands of readers not only in Austen's time, but also brings special feelings to people today. I like this book very much. The story Pride and Prejudice is all about pride and prejudice, about the effects of these vices on people and things. Pride refers to Darcy's behavior, and prejudice is linked to Elizabeth's view of Darcy. Pride produces prejudice. "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man who has good fortune must be in want of a wife." We all know the first line of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. This famous opening line, humorous and famous, represents the perfect combination of content and style. From this opening line, I can find echoes of the same in many parts of the novel. Throughout the book, the author treats different characters and different situations. Love is really a wonderful thing. If one seeks true love, one should not give up or give in to anything. Stick to your principles and don't be afraid of misunderstandings. I believe that one day, happiness will come true.

01 Elizabeth Bennet
Elizabeth, the second daughter of the Bennet family, was the wisest and quickest of the family. Elizabeth is the heroine of the novel and one of the most famous female characters in English literature.
There are many admirable things about her, just as the novel says that she is lovely, intelligent, and can talk to anyone gracefully. Her honesty, grace, and intelligence set her apart from the lowbrow boredom of her social class.
However, her sharp language and premature judgment on others have also led to her confusion. Elizabeth is not the copy of a vulgar mother and an indifferent father, nor is it the combination of several absurd sisters, nor is it the epitome of powerful women. When she gradually saw the noble quality of Mr. Darcy, she found her wrong understanding of Mr. Darcy.
02 Mr. Darcy
Mr Darcy is the son of a wealthy landowner of Pemberley Manor, and is Elizabeth's companion. He was born noble and rich in material wealth, but he was too proud and attached too much importance to his social status.
His pride made him leave a bad impression on Elizabeth at first. Elizabeth's refusal humbled him. Although Elizabeth is indifferent to him, Darcy still expresses his untiring admiration for Elizabeth, which proves his love for her.
03 Mrs Bennet
Mrs. Bennet is a foolish and thoughtless woman. There was no propriety or virtue to her, and she cared nothing for the moral and cultural education of her daughters. Her only problem is how to marry off all her daughters.
She is very satisfied with her daughter Linda's marriage, but she does not condemn Linda's shameful behavior, nor worry about Linda's bad influence on the family.
Mrs. Bennet's uncultured also directly led to the humiliation of Elizabeth, outspoken behavior also led to Jane and Mr. Bingley married and moved away from the occurrence.
04 Mr Bennet
Mr Bennet was a wise, middle-aged man who often spoke to others in a sarcastic, cynical, yet aloof tone. Mr Bennet believed that the greatest mistake of his life had been to marry, at a young age, this beautiful, ignorant, narrow-minded young wife.
He immersed himself in books and tried to mentally leave the family, thus neglecting the education of his daughters.

In Pride and Prejudice, Austen uses her delicate feelings to reflect the love and marriage status between country gentlemen and ladies in a light-hearted and lively way, creating a tranquil atmosphere by describing domestic chores and meticulously depicting the romantic feelings and troubles encountered by young girls who want to get married. At the same time, the author also expresses her own views on women's choices regarding marriage. The heroine Elizabeth has strong emotions and charm, but at the same time has many shortcomings, after some changes and emotional setbacks to become mature and rational.

She was a woman of mean understanding, little information, and uncertain temper.
"My dear Mr. Bennet,"replied his wife, "how can you be so tiresome! You must know that I am thinking of his marrying one of them."
Indeed I have, Sir,"was her answer. "She is a great deal too ill to be moved. Mr. Jones says we must not think of moving her. We must trespass a little longer on your kindness.'
I remember hearing you once say, Mr. Darcy, that you hardly ever forgave, that your resentment once created was unappeasable. You are very cautious, I suppose, as to its being created.
Elizabeth could not repress a smile at this, but she answered only by a slight inclination of the head.
